Science Fiction Come True?

Recently, many of us have heard the news of how scientists have found a planet much like Tatooine from Star Wars. As a result, the new planet that was discovered to be orbiting two suns was nicknamed as “Tatooine”.

However lately, another idea heard in many science fiction stories has been shown to might be possible- life could possibly exist in black holes.

Could this all be a hoax? Well, the idea was worked on by physicist Professor Vyacheslav Dokuchaev from the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow. In addition, the new was posted onto DiscoveryNews and MIT’s blog.

The theory is based on previous theories, so if the previous theories are proven wrong, his theory may be incorrect as well. Dokuchaev studied hypothetical orbits and the singularity in order to understand the dynamics of subatomic particles such as photons. This is because his theory is based on the previous theory that subatomic particles can have stable orbits inside the structure of black holes.

If this theory is correct, it would be an amazing breakthrough. Civilizations other than us may be living on the other “side” of the black holes. Other planets holding life could be hidden behind the darkness. For all we know, another universe may be there.

At this point though, nothing is completely sure. Dokuchaev admitted himself that there are some possible problems, where rules of space-time do not apply. But, this sure does open up some new, interesting philosophical questions.

  1. An interesting contrasting viewpoint to this is the notion that black holes are actually wormholes to different places in our own universe. While both theories are very tantalizing in their prospects, I have no clue how scientists would approach the problem of confirming these types of theories (What's on the other side of a black hole, etc.). (TBH, the black hole in my brain looks like a very small, very dense pile of degenerate junk illuminated from all directions by incoming light.)
