Summer Interns' Blogs!

By Jim Gerard, INSPIRE Education Specialist, KSC, FL

This summer, students participating in the Summer STEM Experience will be contributing to a Summer  Interns' Blog.  It will give them a way to share their experience with those at other centers and in the Online Learning Community.  Every day new blogs will post, with every center contributing each week.  That may sound like a lot to keep up with, so here are some tips to help you out:
  • Summer Interns' Blog entries will be posted in the OLC Blog.  Click on the 'Connect' tab, then on the 'Summer Interns' Blog' link in the upper left column.
  • Click on the 'Blog List' tab and use the search window to search for 'Center'. Eight of the ten Centers will appear (those with 'Center' as part of their name). Click on the boxes and then click the 'add' icon at the bottom of the frame (it has a plus sign and a star on it). Search for and add 'Dryden' and 'Lab' to have all ten NASA Centers in your Blog List.  Click 'Show Search Options' to the right of the search box.  Click the radio button next to '  You should see all ten centers represented with a star next to their name.
  • Each day, go to the blog link and click the 'Blog Watch' tab.  New posts will appear near the top.
  • Comments are enabled and encouraged!  The student writers will monitor the comments and answer questions.  Chaperons will also monitor comments and will delete any that are not acceptable.
We are looking forward to the Blog being a great place to connect with friends on the OLC this summer.  Selected blogs (and comments!) will be reproduced here to be highlighted in the OLC.
