Today's MDRS Update!

By Lisa Thornsberry, Georgia Tech MDRS Crew 115

Today we started setting up the wind turbine. When the turbine is fully set up, it will convert the kinetic energy of the wind into chemical energy stored in a car battery. It's a great way to get power because there is so much wind here, and it's good for the environment. Wind turbines would be used in a similar fashion on Mars, though the thinner atmosphere of Mars would mean that the turbines would produce less power.

Question of the day: What is the crew's favorite freeze-dried meal?
Answer: Chicken noodle soup with lentils.
